about us

City on a Hill is a new non-denominational church based in Central Florida, currently gathering in-person and online. We are a community of believers passionate about growing in our faith and deepening our understanding of the Word of God. Whether you have been walking with the Lord for years or are just starting your journey, you’re invited to join us as we pursue faith and spiritual growth together.

As servants of Christ, we are devoted to helping others grow in their faith and understanding of the Word of God. Our desire is to offer prayer, support, and biblical guidance, always pointing every heart and mind to Jesus Christ, the true source of life and spiritual growth. “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Corinthians 4:5, KJV)

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5, KJV)

At City on a Hill Church, the Bible—both Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is the final standard for faith, doctrine, and daily living, and everything we teach and practice is tested by God’s Word: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God…” (2 Timothy 3:16–17). His Word is a guide for our lives—“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).

We worship one true and living God, the Father—eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and Creator of all things. As Scripture says, “God that made the world and all things therein… giveth to all life, and breath, and all things” (Acts 17:24–28). We proclaim Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of the world, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in glory. “To us there is but one God, the Father… and one Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 8:6).

Salvation is the free gift of God, made possible through the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. He alone is the source of eternal salvation and the only way we can be reconciled to the Father: “Neither is there salvation in any other” (Acts 4:12). Salvation involves genuine repentance—turning from sin to God—and a life of obedience to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God, given to dwell within those who are born again. The Spirit empowers believers to overcome sin, live holy lives, and walk in obedience to God. Jesus taught, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Believers are called to live by the Spirit—“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

The Church is the Body of Christ, made up of those who have been born again. It is not defined by a building or denomination, but by a people who follow Christ in truth and righteousness. Scripture says, “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular” (1 Corinthians 12:27). We gather for worship, teaching, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth—“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship… and in prayers” (Acts 2:42).

Church leadership is a calling from God and a life of service to the will of God. Leaders are to shepherd the flock with humility, sound doctrine, love, and accountability, following the example of Jesus Christ: “Take heed… to all the flock… to feed the church of God” (Acts 20:28). Leadership is not about position, but Christlike service—“He that is greatest among you shall be your servant” (Matthew 23:11).

OUR BELIEFS

aaron pratt - minister

Aaron has devoted his life to serving the Lord with faith, courage, and integrity. Called into ministry in 2018, he previously served in leadership at a church in Southern California before being led by God to Central Florida, where he now continues to help build and guide City on a Hill. Believing the words of Jesus, “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8 KJV), Aaron ministers with a heart to pour out what God has so graciously given to him, sharing the Word and love of Christ with all who are willing to hear.

Before entering the ministry, Aaron served for many years as a law enforcement detective. Through that experience, God developed in him discernment, compassion, and a deep respect for truth and justice — qualities that now shape his heart for people and his

approach to leadership. Following the example of those who “addicted themselves to the ministering of the saints” (1 Corinthians 16:15 KJV), Aaron’s life is devoted to serving others with sincerity and care. In all things, he strives to be as Paul described, a “helper of your joy” (2 Corinthians 1:24 KJV), walking alongside others in faith and encouraging them to stand firm in the grace of Christ.

Aaron carries a strong calling to equip and strengthen believers, helping them grow in their relationship with God and walk boldly in their purpose. His desire is nothing more than to see followers of Christ mature in faith, stand firm in truth, and draw closer to the Lord in every part of their lives. As Scripture says, “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?” (1 Thessalonians 2:19 KJV). His life reflects a steady commitment to the Word of God and a passion for seeing lives transformed through the power of Christ.
